The Wattyl Killrust system makes painting metal an easy three step process. The system is specially formulated to rejuvenate, beautify and protect metal surfaces.
Step 1: Prepare
The Killrust range of preparatory products provide superior solutions for preparing rusted metal, clean steel as well as those ‘difficult to reach’ surfaces.
Killrust Fishoilene
- An anti-corrosive protective fluid for rusted steel where normal surface preparation is difficult
- Ideal for hard to reach areas such as cracks, crevices along pipes, nuts and bolts, hinges and welds
Killrust Gold Galvit
- Zinc-rich, cold galvanising primer for long-term, extra heavy duty corrosion protection
- Encapsulates the metal in a zinc film
- Ideal for use on clean, rust free steel in highly corrosive environments such as coastal regions
- For use on steel handrails, balustrading and other structural steelwork
Killrust Rust-Eeter®
- Converts rust to stop corrosion
- Provides a suitable surface for subsequent priming and painting
- For use on wrought iron and ferrous metal surfaces
Step 2: Prime
Killrust primers contain rust inhibiting pigments designed to chemically fight rust and create a protective barrier. Excellent adhesion properties provide a sound base for top coating.
Killrust Heavy Duty Metal Primer
- A high performance, anti-corrosive primer
- Forms a tough and flexible coating to resist corrosion, even in the harshest of environments
- Ideal for use on ZINCALUME® and galvanised Iron
- For use on roofs, wrought iron railings, gutters, down pipes and general structural steel work
Killrust Metal Etch Primer
- A fast drying, anti-corrosive primer
- Provides excellent adhesion to aluminium, brass, copper, stainless steel, zinc and lead surfaces
- For use on aluminium windows, doors, gutters, fences, gates, railings and down pipes
Step 3: Topcoat
The range of Killrust topcoat products are designed to provide superior protection when used in accordance with the Killrust System Guide.
Killrust Epoxy Gloss Enamel
- An advanced, anti-corrosive epoxy formula
- Provides excellent durability and maximum metal protection in an attractive gloss finish
- Apply directly to new and lightly rusted steel and wrought iron surfaces without any need for priming
- For use on metal fences, gutters, gates, railings, down pipes and other general metal coating applications
Killrust Satin Enamel
- Anti-corrosive formula
- Designed with a satin sheen level which has been matched to popular pre-coated steel colours
- For use on pre-coated metal surfaces where touching up and colour-matching is required
- Available in aerosol pack
Killrust Hammer Finish
- A decorative coating resembling hammered sheet metal
- Camouflages imperfect surfaces and hides unsightly dents, scratches and joints
- For use on imperfect metal surfaces, weld joints and equipment which has been pre-coated in a similar finish
- Available in aerosol pack
Killrust Roof Paint
- A high quality, anti-corrosive roof paint
- Specially formulated to protect exterior roof and structural surfaces
- For use on primed, galvanised iron, pre-coated steel roof surfaces including areas used for the collection of drinking water
