VOC’s are Volatile Organic Compounds which evaporate from paint when it is applied.They are carbon-based chemical substances which produce sometimes unpleasant fumes, and are found in most paints, wood stains and adhesives. VOC's are the main cause of paint odours and also contribute to air pollution, both indoors and in the atmosphere.

The Wattyl Eco System has been assessed by Good Environmental Choice Australia for its low environmental impact on the entire product lifecycle and manufacturing process and not on VOC levels alone. Each product receives a licence and is internationally recognised so consumers can make informed environmental decisions. 

Increasingly, governments, industrial groups and consumers are using this label to make ‘Good Environmental Choice’ decisions.

Ammonia has been removed from Interior Design i.d to such a low level that there is no ammonia odour and no vapour to sting the eyes and nose.
